Current Favourites

November 19, 2017

Where have I been? Honestly, I don’t even know myself. These past six months felt like an eternity full of stress, yet now that they’re over, it feels like they’ve gone by so fast. Anyway, I am back now!

As you can tell from the title of this post, today I want to share my current favourites with you. Music and TV shows. Hope you enjoy!

SONGS:

  • Say It To Myself by Madison Beer (YouTube)

  • No Limit by G-Eazy ft. A$AP Rocky, Cardi B (YouTube)

  • I Like Me Better by Lauv (YouTube)

  • Runnin’ (Lose It All) by Naughty Boy ft. Beyoncé, Arrow Benjamin (YouTube)

  • Personal by The Vamps, Maggie Lindemann (YouTube)

  • Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man (YouTube)

  • Phases by ALMA, French Montana (YouTube)

  • On My Mind by Jorja Smith, Preditah (YouTube)

  • Unforgettable by French Montana ft. Swae Lee (YouTube)

  • Discovery Channel by Lika Morgan (YouTube)

  • Bodak Yellow by Cardi B (YouTube)

  • Dusk Till Dawn by ZAYN ft. Sia (YouTube)

  • Young Dumb & Broke by Khalid (YouTube)

  • Havana by Camila Cabello (YouTube)

  • Stay by Zedd, Alessia Cara (YouTube)

  • Long Live The Chief by Jidenna (YouTube)

  • Feels by Calvin Harris ft. Pharrell Williams, Katy Perry, Big Sean (YouTube)

  • Power by Little Mix ft. Stormzy (YouTube)

ARTISTS:

  • PRETTYMUCH

This is a band I recently discovered, they are quite new and therefore don’t have many songs. However, the music they have released so far is so good! Their vibe is quite 90s, yet modern. You should check them out; Would You Mind (YouTube), Teacher (YouTube), Open Arms (YouTube)

TV SHOWS:

These are only the shows I have recently started watching. I watch a few others, too.

  • Stranger Things

Let me start by saying that this show honestly is just as good as everybody says. Usually people tend to “overhype” things but believe me when I say it’s worth watching.

  • Designated Survivor

This is a quite recent discovery of mine. I didn’t know what this was about when I watched the pilot and I was positively surprised. Definitely worth checking out.

  • Dynasty

Yet another show I never thought I would enjoy. It’s fun to watch, not really too complicated.

  • Riverdale

This is a series that, in my honest opinion, is a little overhyped. The show is not bad but definitely not as good as everybody says it is. The first couple of episodes are somewhat boring/annoying but you really start to enjoy it after the first few episodes. I have watched all episodes so far and I still dislike 85% of the characters but the plot has definitely developed well. I might or might not stop watching, I don’t know yet. But I suggest you watch it and see for yourself.

I hope you enjoyed this post and found some new likes! I will try to get back to uploading regularly.

Have a good week! x

Music In February

March 12, 2017
large

I am back! I apologise for the lack of uploads these past few weeks but I have not been feeling inspired to write anything at all.

But now that February is almost long gone, I figured it’s time for a monthly music blog post!

SONGS:

  • Call Me Out by Sarah Close (YouTube)

  • Rockabye (The Vamps cover) originally by Clean Bandit (YouTube)

  • Are You Sure? by Kris Kross Amsterdam & Conor Maynard ft. Ty Dolla $ign (YouTube)

  • Shape Of You (Sing Off Conor Maynard vs The Vamps) originally by Ed Sheeran (YouTube)

  • Black Magic by Yung Mavu (YouTube)

It’s is a really cool remix / rap about Harry Potter.

This is a response to Yung Mavu’s Black Magic, this time from Draco Malfoy’s point of view. I think Yung Mavu’s flow is better but Airo’s lyrics really make up for it. If you’re into rap and Harry Potter, I find that you’ll quite enjoy these two songs.

There aren’t a lot of new songs from me this month but some of the ones I have listed are not typical songs so I hope you enjoy them!

Have a good week x

All How To:

How To: Get Rid Of A Cold

January 11, 2017
barney-stinson-quote

So this time of the year has begun, and everybody is starting to feel ill. Unfortunately I am one of those people whose immune system doesn’t seem to care about whether I am ill or not. I get ill quite easily and when I do, it’s really bad. Of course sometimes it’s just a runny nose but other times it’s a bacterial or viral infection and then I’m out for days. Now at the beginning of 2017, I’ve fallen ill again so I decided to give you some tips that will help you with a cold or something the like.

Let’s get started:

  • Rest

This is one of the most obvious tips but it really helps, it won’t do you any good to be stressed or do exercise while you’re ill.

  • Use Heat

A good old fashioned hot water bottle can do wonders. The gentle steady warmth will loosen up your muscles, and soften up phlegm to help it come up (e.g if you have a cough).

  • Drink

When you’re ill, fluids are your friends. They’ll help unclog your nose and thin any mucus so you can cough or blow it out. If you don’t drink enough water when you’re sick and become dehydrated, the lack of body water can lead to new or worsening nausea and vomiting. Keeping ahead of the game by drinking plenty of water helps you avoid this problem, it also helps soothe a sore throat. Preferably drink hot drinks like tea.

  • Honey

If you have a sore throat, honey will help. It’s rich in vitamin C, which is known for boosting immune function to help fight against infection. Honey will coat your throat and soothe it.

  • Steam Inhalation

This will help you keep your nasal passages free. Inflamed nasal passages can lead to sneezing, a runny nose and sore eyes.

  • Nasal Sprays

Using a gentle saline nasal spray, or drops three to four times a day can help stop a runny nose and make it easier to breathe.

  • Blow Your Nose

It’s better than sniffling mucus back into your head. But make sure you do it the right way. If you blow hard, you’ll send germ-carrying phlegm back into your ear passages, which can lead to an earache. It’s best to press a finger over one nostril while you blow gently to clear the other.

  • Gargle

Gargling can moisten a sore throat to bring temporary relief. Try a teaspoon of salt, or use honey, dissolved in warm water, four times daily.

  • Meds

If you aren’t getting any better you should try some over-the-counter painkillers like ibuprofen, paracetamol or aspirin/dafalgan.

  • Doctor

If you’re feeling really bad or you can’t get rid of the cold, you should definitely go see a doctor. You might have a viral or bacterial infection, in which case the doctor will most likely prescribe you antibiotics which should do the job.

I certainly hope you are all well! Have a healthy winter x
